Framework agreement between the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial for the collaboration in R+D+i in the field of Longitude Metrology.

On July 4, 2025, the Rector of Universidad Politècnica de València (UPV) Mr. José Esteban Capilla Romá signed a Framework Agreement with the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aerospacial (INTA) for collaboration in R&D&I in the field of Length Metrology. The agreement, promoted by the  Department of Cartographic Engineering, Geodesy and Photogrammetry of the UPV The program, with an initial duration of four years, will foster collaboration for the development and joint execution of research projects, promote participation in bilateral or multilateral cooperation, education and research projects and programs, and facilitate the exchange of students, professors and researchers for a limited period of time;

The Follow-up Commission to facilitate the development and fulfillment of the agreement is composed of Mr. Luis García-Asenjo Villamayor and Mr. Sergio Baselga Moreno, on behalf of the UPV, and Mr. Robert Benyon Puig and Ms. Ana Gloria Gómez Sevillano on behalf of INTA.

As a first action within the agreement, the implementation and maintenance of the future INTA1000 calibration base using the long-range submillimeter distance measurement technique is foreseen; GBDM+ developed at the UPV.
