As part of the GNSS-Metrology research project, coordinated by the Department of Cartographic Engineering, Geodesy and Photogrammetry of the UPV and financed by the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research, a joint observation campaign was carried out in the geodetic network of the CERN. In the experiment, carried out between July 6 and 11, 2025, in addition to the researchers from the UPV and the Geodetic Metrology group CERN, researchers from the French Metrology Center (CNAM).
The objective of this research, which also involves the Spanish Metrology Center (CEM) and the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA), is to develop the ability to measure outdoor baselines with accuracies better than 1 millimeter at distances of up to 10 km, using both the GNSS submillimeter distance meter technique developed at the UPV, called GBDM+, and the Arpent two-color distance meter prototype developed by CNAM. The results of the joint campaign will be announced soon.
