Optical Wireless Systems

Description

The aim of this course is to understand the theoretical basis and see the most significant applications currently being developed in the field of microwave photonics. After an introduction to the applications of microwave photonics, the MWP systems are studied in general, followed by the study of the microwave photonic filters, optical pre-filtering of microwave signal, delay lines for optical shaping of beams, optoelectronic oscillators, A/D converters and techniques of photonic generation of RF signals.

Evaluation

There will be two acts of evaluation during the course, which will contribute to 90% of the total qualification. Lecturers propose several projects, which the students can choose to complete the rest 10%. The students who have not obtained 5 in the total qualifications will have to approve a final exam to pass the course.
