1.1 Introduction

The Universitat Politécnica de València, hereinafter the UPV, with NIF ESQ4618002B, registered office at Camí de Vera s/n, CP 46022, Valencia (Spain), contact telephone +34 96 387 70 00, and Spain being the country in which it carries out its activity, hereby informs of the General Terms and Conditions that regulate the access, browsing and use of its Internet Portal. In particular, it informs and regulates the access and use of the following websites (...).

  • a) Internet Portal

    In accordance with Article 39 of Law 40/2015, of 1 October, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector, an internet portal is understood to be the electronic access point, in this case upv.es (as well as any of its subdomains, microsites and/or mobile applications) whose ownership corresponds, in this case, to the UPV, which allows internet access to the information published and to the e-Office.

  • b) e-Office

    In accordance with Article 38 of Law 40/2015, of 1 October, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector, at the following address (URL) https://sede.upv.es/oficina_tactica/?idioma=en#/inicio has been located on the Internet the UPV e-Office.

    The e-Office is the electronic address available through which citizens can access information and electronic services and procedures via telecommunications networks whose ownership, management and administration corresponds to the UPV in the exercise of its competences.

    The e-Office is, in general, freely accessible and does not require prior subscription or registration by the user. However, for security and privacy reasons, access to some areas and services of the e-Office may be subject to specific authentication conditions that are established in the detailed information corresponding to each particular service.

    This e-Office allows actions, procedures and services that require electronic access via the Internet for citizens to the services offered by the UPV in the public interest, in a secure and efficient manner and with the required accessibility and quality.

It is for this reason that we recommend that you read this "Legal Notice" carefully before browsing.

1.2 Nature of the information published on the Portal

The information provided through this medium is for illustrative and not informative purposes and no liability is accepted for content accessible via links or documents on other domains.

The Universidad Politécnica de València endeavours to ensure that this information is accurate and precise, and updates it as quickly as possible, trying to avoid errors and correcting them as soon as they are detected. However, the UPV cannot guarantee the absence of errors or that the content of the information is permanently updated.

The information contained in the Portal may be modified and updated without prior notice, both in terms of its content and its design and presentation.

The information provided in response to any consultation or request for information is merely for guidance purposes and is in no way binding for the resolution of administrative procedures, which are strictly subject to the applicable legal or regulatory rules.

In general, the information available on this Portal must be understood as a guide with no legal validity. 1.3 General terms and conditions of use of the Portal

By accessing, browsing the Internet Portal and using the services included therein, you acquire the status of User, without reservations of any kind, to each and every one of these General Terms and Conditions of Use and the Special Conditions, which, where appropriate, govern the provision of the services available on the website, without prejudice to the attention and compliance by the User of the conditions set and provided for by the websites hyperlinked from upv.es, for which the UPV does not answer.

The UPV may, at any time and without prior notice, modify the General Terms and Conditions of Use, as well as the Particular Conditions that may be established.

In any case, the User undertakes to make appropriate use of the contents and services that the Universidad Politécnica de València offers through the Portal and, by way of example, but not limited to, undertakes to:

  1. Not to engage in activities that are illicit, illegal or contrary to good faith and public order.
  2. Not to enter, store or disseminate on or from the Portal any information or material that, explicitly or implicitly, is defamatory, libellous, offensive, obscene, threatening, xenophobic, in support of terrorism, pornographic or incites violence, discrimination on grounds of race, sex, ideology, religion or that in any way violates morality, public order, fundamental rights, public freedoms, with special attention to the honour, privacy or image of third parties and, in general, human rights.
  3. Not to use false identities or impersonate the identity of others when using the Portal or any of the services provided, including the use of passwords or access codes of third parties or in any other way. Consequently, the User may not attempt to access and, where appropriate, use the passwords of other users and modify or manipulate their messages.
  4. Not to introduce, store or disseminate through the Portal any computer programme, data, virus, code, hardware or telecommunications equipment or any other electronic or physical instrument or device that may cause damage to the Portal, to any of the services, or to any of the equipment, systems or networks of the Universidad Politécnica de València or, in general, of any third party, or that in any other way is capable of causing them any type of alteration or preventing the normal functioning of the same.
  5. Not to destroy, alter, use for use, render useless or damage the data, information, programmes or electronic documents of the Universidad Politécnica de València or any third party.
  6. Not to introduce, store or disseminate through the Portal any content that infringes the intellectual or industrial property rights or business secrets of third parties, or in general any content that it does not hold, in accordance with the law, the right to make available to third parties.
  7. Not to use the services offered on the Portal for the purpose of promoting external companies and services, other websites and advertising or commercial campaigns, or to act for the benefit of legal entities.

In the event of contravention of the above conditions, the Universidad Politécnica de València reserves the right and will be entitled to block, suspend or cancel, immediately and without prior notice, access to and use of the Portal and, where appropriate, to remove content that is presumed or declared illegal, whether it does so at its sole discretion, and at the request of the third party concerned or of the competent authority.

1.4 Responsibility

The UPV accepts no liability for any damages that may arise, including but not limited to, the following:

  1. Inferences, omissions, interruptions, computer viruses, breakdowns and/or disconnections in the operational functioning of this electronic system or in the Users' computer apparatus and equipment, caused by reasons beyond the control of UPV, which prevent or delay the provision of the services or browsing of the System.
  2. Delays or blockages in use caused by deficiencies or overloading of the Internet or other electronic systems.
  3. That may be caused by third parties through illegitimate intromissions beyond the UPV's control and which are not attributable to the UPV.
  4. The impossibility of providing the service or allowing access for reasons not attributable to the UPV, due to the User, third parties or force majeure.
  5. The Portal may contain links to the electronic sites of other public administrations or to the websites of other bodies, companies or institutions, with the aim of making it easier for citizens to find information and resources on the Internet, although the UPV does not own these sites and is not responsible for their content, operation or possible consequences of their access or use. However, these pages are not owned by UPV and, therefore, UPV is not responsible for their content, operation or any possible consequences that may arise from accessing or using them. Messages on the links may indicate whether or not the UPV Portal is being abandoned by accessing them. In any case, when leaving the address https://www.upv.es/index-en.html, the information or services to which are outside the scope of responsibility of the owner of the UPV's electronic site.

1.5 Intellectual and industrial property

The source code, graphic designs, images, photographs, sounds, animations, software, texts, domain names, trademarks, as well as the information and contents collected throughout the Portal are protected by Spanish legislation, in favour of the UPV.

Its use, reproduction, distribution, public communication, transformation or any other similar or analogous activity is strictly forbidden without the express authorisation of the UPV.

The licence granted to the User to use any content of this site is limited to the downloading of said content and its private use. In accordance with article 8 of Law 37/2007, of 16 November, on the re-use of public sector information, the re-use of information from public administrations and public sector bodies shall be subject, among others, to the following general conditions: (a) That the content of the information is not altered; (b) That the meaning of the information is not distorted; (c) That the source is cited and; (d) That the date of the last update is mentioned.
