100% of places covered
The UPV's Double Degree in Computer Engineering and Mathematics achieves the highest cut-off mark in the Valencia Region
[ 14/07/2023 ]
The Double Degree in Computer Engineering and Mathematics offered by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) at its higher technical schools of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) and Computer Engineering (ETSINF) has reached, with 13.635, the highest cut-off mark of all the degrees offered in the Valencian Community in the June pre-enrolment results. This is the first time that a UPV degree has reached the highest position.
Furthermore, in the current call for applications, the UPV has once again covered 100% of its offer, with 5,793 places allocated, a figure that represents a pre-enrolment record in the history of the institution currently directed by José E. Capilla. Of these places allocated, 3,129 are for men and 2,664, or 46%, for women, which consolidates the trend that began a few years ago towards gender equality among undergraduate students.
Satisfied with results that "confirm the growing attractiveness of the UPV's academic offer", the Rector highlighted "the increase of 570 students, 7% more than the previous year, who have chosen the UPV as their first choice, as well as the 46% of places awarded to women, a figure that shows the progress we are making in the promotion of gender equality in our institution".
In turn, Capilla highlighted "the 4,000 applications from students from outside the Valencian Community, of which 3,200 have been awarded, demonstrating the breadth of our influence and the diversity of our student body", as well as indicating, "in terms of performance, how proud we are that the highest cut-off mark in the Valencian Community is ours, that of the Double Degree in Computer Engineering and Mathematics".
3 out of the 5 highest cut-off marks belong to UPV degrees
In fact, in total, of the five highest cut-off marks in the Valencian Community Region, three belong to degrees taught at the UPV. In addition to the aforementioned, these are the Degree in Aerospace Engineering (13.354) and the PARS (Programa Académico de Recorrido Sucesivo) in Aeronautical Engineering, via the Degree in Aerospace Engineering (13.349).
"Looking to the future", concluded the rector, "we will continue working to maintain and improve these results, reaffirming our commitment to academic excellence, equal opportunities and the diversity of our university community".
