[ 10/05/2023 ]
Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de València and currently a PhD student at the UPV, David Moreno is one of the 111 most influential students in 2023 according to the Nova 111 Student List. Five of them are from the UPV.
David Moreno, from Alicante, 25 years old and a graduate in Telecommunications Engineering from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, is currently studying for his industrial doctorate in Massachusetts (USA), specifically at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). A doctorate that he is doing jointly at the Universitat Politècnica de València and DAS Photonics, a Valencian company located on the Vera campus.
His time at the UPV has allowed him to open up a field of research outside Spain: "During my master's degree, the university provided me with international mobility. Thanks to the PROMOE grant, I studied in Tokyo".
David is currently employed as an Innovation Engineer at DAS Photonics, where he is researching artificial intelligence-designed, 3D-printed meta-surfaces for defence and satellite communications applications.
For David Moreno, being recognised on the Nova Spain 2023 list is a great stimulus, and he assures that, for him, "it is a great honour and very satisfying to be valued for the effort and hard work so far. I value it and am very grateful for it. It motivates me to keep working hard, and I don't stop because I am aware that this is a long-distance race, and it has only just begun".
Five out of the 111 Spanish students aged between 18 and 25 selected in different disciplines have studied at the UPV. The Nova platform seeks to connect the best young talents with the aim of developing and enhancing their professional careers.
