The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is the best university in Spain at the teaching level and the third in the global ranking at the national level. This was revealed by the seventh and latest edition of the U-Ranking, recently published synthetic indicator meter for Spanish universities.
Prepared by the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute for Economic Research (IVIE), the U-Ranking places the UPV as a Spanish reference in the field of Teaching, tied for first place with two private universities –the Universidad de Navarra and the Universidad Nebrija. The UPV also ranks there as the second best in Spain, alongside the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in Innovation and Technological Development.
In the global ranking, the UPV climbed one position compared to the 2018 edition, in which it ranked fourth. Likewise, in the classification made according to the volume of results, the institution - currently managed by Francisco Mora - is the sixth best in the country.
The present edition of U-Ranking includes the 48 public universities in Spain, in addition to the 14 private ones for which there is sufficient information with the appropriate quality so that the processing can be homogeneous with respect to the public ones in the calculation of the synthetic indicators.
Thus, this edition analyses a total of 62 public and private universities, covering 95% of the Spanish university system in terms of number of undergraduate students, assessing, in turn, nearly 3,000 degrees and double degrees.
