Art. 34 of Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December on universities, states in paragraph 3 that universities may establish degree programmes leading to diplomas and non-official postgraduate courses, which shall lack the effects that the legal provisions bestow upon university degrees that are official and valid throughout the Spanish territory.
