The IEG will colaborate with the Bureau of European Policy Advisers of the European Commission
In the workshop "Reflections on the Common Agricultural Policy from a long-run perspective" organized by the European Commission. 26th February, 2009. Brussels.
The Professor José Mª García Alvarez-Coque, has been invited by "The Bureau of European Policy Advisers of the European Commission, in the context of the EU budget review" to parcipate in this workshop. His presentation will be on the Sesión Nº4: The EU as global player: what implications for the CAP? The others sessions are: 1. The future of the first pillar: after decoupling what? 2. A further "greening" of the CAP? What role for each pillar? 3. The changing competitiveness of rural areas: what are the advantages and disadvantages of a stand alone rural policy? The workshop will have the participation of recognized experts like: Johan F.M. Swinnen, Josef Schmidhuber, Louis-Pascal Mahé, Guy Garrod, Jorgen E. Olesen, Vitor Gaspar, Mark Drabenstott, Mario Pezzini, Elena Saraceno, Giovanni Anania and Michel Petit.
