Concrete is the most widely used construction material today, and has led to the most significant advances in the field of construction. It is also a basic pillar of the prefabrication industry. The study of binders and additions and the correlation between the microscopic and macroscopic properties of concrete are a good starting point for further investigation of concrete in all its aspects. All of these aspects are addressed taking into account the criteria of quality, safety, sustainability, development cooperation and corporate social responsibility.
The main objective of this degree is to provide a broad understanding of concrete as a building material, as well as the skills necessary for the analysis and design of concrete structures.
The programme is designed to train professionals, researchers and teachers to become specialists in any of the following areas:
Physico-chemical and technological properties of concrete and its constituent conventional and advanced materials; manufacture and applications
Physico-chemical and technological properties of materials for the repair of structural concrete constructions and related applications
Construction procedures, machinery and ancillary equipment for the construction of conventional and singular concrete structures
Durability of concrete constructions and protective measures
Environmental and life-cycle properties of concrete
Assessment and diagnosis of structural concrete constructions and the methods, mechanisms and means for repair and rehabilitation
Mechanical resistance behaviour of structural concrete constructions, numerical modelling and experimental analysis
Concrete construction design, optimisation and planning
Industrialized construction and prefabrication
Civil Engineers, Public Works Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Technical Industrial Engineers, Architects, Technical Architects, Materials Engineers, Agricultural Engineers, Agricultural Technical Engineers, and other graduates with equivalent qualifications
