Academic activity cancelled 4-10 November

Staff on secondment or caring for family members will be able to continue teleworking

[ 02/11/2024 ]

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has decided to extend until 10 November the exceptional measures adopted these days, due to the exceptional situation that affects different municipalities in the province of Valencia after the passage of the DANA and its effects.

These measures include, among others, the maintenance of the suspension of all academic activity on the three campuses (from 4 to 10 November), and the continuation of the teleworking regime for UPV staff whose transfer to the centres is compromised or who have to take care of family members.

This has been communicated to the university community, through its communication channels and through an official communiqué in which it thanks the commendable work and understanding of all the staff, and appeals for solidarity with all those affected. In this respect, he reminds those people who want to help in the clean-up work that the Volunteer Coordination Centre is located on the ground floor of the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum in Valencia where, from 7 a.m. onwards, buses will be leaving daily for the affected areas. It is essential to wear waterproof boots or hiking shoes, gloves, a mask, water and a drink for the day.

These measures taken by the UPV will be reviewed on 8 November and, if necessary, any variation in the conditions or their maintenance will be communicated.
