MA in Audiovisual Communications (1st and 2nd cycle degree)

Training goals

The studies leading to an MA in Audiovisual Communications are designed to provide students with adequate training in the creation, production and implementation of products within several fields of audiovisual communications.

The goals we hope to achieve by offering this degree course can be summed up as follows:

  • On the one hand, we seek to provide students with the training they need in traditional and novel languages and techniques used in the audiovisual field, including the latest digital techniques for the production and completion of audiovisual programmes.
  • On the other hand, a balanced combination of general training in communication and specialised training prepares students as excellent communicators who are able to cope with an audiovisual market in constant change.

The UPV curriculum provides students with an innovative programme that is adapted to the new tendencies in the field and allows graduates to become specialised by choosing among the following specialist pathways: Audiovisual production; Digital graphics design, multimedia creations and interactive communication; Cinematography, radio and television; Artistic direction, animation and visual effects; Digital technology; Multimedia production; and Educational technologies.

Career opportunities

The training that graduates have received allows them access to a wide range of job opportunities, including:

  • Directing TV, radio and interactive or multimedia programmes; film director; producing films, TV, radio and interactive or multimedia programmes; script or screenplay writer; script analyst; photographic, casting and artistic director; film and audiovisual critic; editing publications and internal and external communications in enterprises, and so forth.
