Fou un infant despert i obert al món
l'home que avui buit i perdut es troba:
molt lentament l'han fet com ara és
amics i amors viscuts intensament,
i va tot sol i va tot sol, tot sol.

Ha buscat i no ha trobat,
ha lluitat i no ha vencut,
ha cregut, l'han enganyat,
ha estudiat i no sap,
creu que no sap.

Com un record de mots que mai no ha dit,
amb ulls distrets que s'ignoren mirant,
com un diari vell, groguenc, llegit,
al seu davant veu tot el seu passat,
i va tot sol i va tot sol, tot sol.
