Let me take you down to

Why?
Because The Cavern is in Mathew Street. Because it is almost with certainty the street with more direct references to The Beatles in the world. Pubs, shops.... it's a Beatles' world.
Where?
You can find Mathew Street in Liverpool, and believe me, this one won't be hard to find at all. Here's a map of the city centre to make things easier. But maybe you'd like a virtual trip around Mathew Street

What You Should Know
The Beatles at Grapes
  • One of the most interesting things on Mathew Street is The Beatles Shop. Not that I have commercial interest, but you can find many interesting things If you're willing to pay for them. Certainly worth a visit.

  • There are a couple of pubs in Mathew Street that will take you back to The Beatles time. I stared at some of the walls, plenty of Beatles memorabilia for almost an hour.

  • There is a bronze statue of The Beatles inside "The Cavern Walks" which is worth a picture.

  • The Beatles used to a pub called Grapes to have some pints because The Cavern wasn't licensed to serve them
Miscellanea
When visiting Mathew Street one has the impression of a contest by the locals to get the most appealing Beatles related name for their businesses. Like "The Cavern Walks" in which you can find a cafe called "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". There is an "Abbey Road Pub" and another called "John Lennon", and of course "The Beatles Shop".
