The main objectives of this video are to define the concepts of Safety Performance Function, Crash Modification Factor, and Calibration Factor; enumerate the different steps proposed by the Highway Safety Manual for the estimation of the number of crashes; and apply the Predictive Method to predict the number of crashes on two-lane rural roads.
