Assessment of the final master's dissertation

The Master Thesis will be evaluated after being presented in front of a court formed by three teachers form the ETSII. The courts are random, hence, the members will not be known until the day of the defence.

To guide the procedure, evaluation rubrics will be used which are slightly different for each degree. The rubrics must be filled by both, the student and the tutor.

There are three different evaluation documents.
Report document: Evaluated by the tutor, student and court.
Process: Evaluated by the tutor and the students.
Oral presentation: Court

Furthermore, the students must hand over the declaration of academic honesty.

The procedure will be the following:
  1. The students applies for the defence of the thesis through the application found in Intranet. It is essential to have completed all the credits, to have the marks loaded on the academic record and the existence of an open call.
2. Once the defence has been applied for through the application, the student must hand over at the Secretary´s Office. A printed copy of the Thesis, a photocopy of the National identification card, the document of trustworthy and the tutor and student´s rubrics.
3. At that point, if all the documentation is correct, the tutor will receive an e-mail to fill a confidential report about the Thesis, where he can propose a qualification.
4.Once the period to request the defence finished, the ETSII will assign to the student a date to perform the defence of the Thesis. This will be notified to the tutor and student through an e-mail.
5. The student will present himself at the day and hour assigned (15 min before) to perform the defence, after which he will be notified with the obtained qualification.
