Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management

What does this degree entail?

This degree aims to train future professionals so that they will be able to manage, run, advise and assess business organizations. Graduates will acquire comprehensive knowledge of management and business organization, which will allow them to carry out managerial tasks within the global scope of organizations. They can also hold senior or intermediate positions in different departments in companies (production, human resources, finance, marketing, investment, management or accounting).

The curriculum includes 18 ECTS of optional subjects, which are grouped into two itineraries:

    • One is taught at the Polytechnic School of Alcoi, and comprises the following elective subjects: Advisory and Finance, Management and Organization, Project Management, Quality and Environment.

    • The other one is taught at the School of Design Engineering and includes the following elective subjects: Advisory and Financial Services, Industrial Business and Services Organization.


What skills do you need before starting this degree?

It is desirable that students have a prior knowledge of mathematics and economics. It is also important for students to master a foreign language, even though you will be able to improve your foreign language skills as you carry out your undergraduate studies (there are some optional subjects in English, French and German, and you can choose to have some general subjects in English).


What skills will you have once you finish this degree?

Graduates in Business Administration and Management receive a comprehensive training in business management and organization, which allows them to carry out managerial tasks in intermediate or senior positions in different departments in companies.


What are your professional options after you finish this degree?

You may hold management positions in all kinds of enterprises: from positions of responsibility in general management to more specialized ones in administration, accounting, finance, taxation, human resources, marketing, quality, occupational hazards, etc. You may also work as auditor, consultant, adviser and trainer for other companies in issues related to economics, finance, quality systems, human resources, etc.

Graduates in Business Administration and Management may work both in the private and public sectors. You can also choose to be self-employed.


What are your internship options?

Internships in companies and organisations are voluntary and in all such agreements remuneration is planned. You can do internships in those organisations that sign a collaboration agreement with the UPV. Currently, there are more than 350 agreements signed with different organizations, which include the main banks and savings banks, financial entities, etc.


Where can you spend a semester abroad?

Thanks to the different academic exchange programs, such as Séneca, Erasmus and Promoe, the UPV has signed agreements with universities in Spain, in Europe and around the world.

With the Séneca grants, you can study in Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla. With the Erasmus programme, you can study in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, etc. The UPV has also its own grants, called Promoe, which allow you to do an academic exchange with universities in the USA, Singapore, China, Mexico, Argentina, Vietnam and Canada, among others.


What are your master's degree options?

With this degree, you will be able to enrol in to the following master's degree courses offered by the UPV: Financial and Fiscal Management; Business, Product and Service Management; and Business Management.

You may also enrol in any other UPV master's degree course by taking the corresponding bridging subjects.
