POLINIZA DOS, Trobada d’Art Urbà is the fourteen edition of the urban art contest at the Universitat Politècnica de València, which this year will take place between May 13-17 2019.

Poliniza Dos being determined to internationalize and to promote contact with foreign countries, this year Peru will be our guest country. Thus we will approach the explosive world of lettering, guided by the muralist and typist Elliot Tupac, and that of kené geometric art, created in this case by the artist Olinda Silvano, a Shipibo-Conibo master craftswoman. Additionally, this year’s edition will not only include murals, but also two interdisciplinary interventions by Aïda Gómez y Lebrel at the Vera Campus, planned as temporary or performative installations.

Another novelty, and this edition’s main attraction, is the presence as a guest –invited in collaboration with the INDAGUE association– of the American researcher Craig Castleman, associate professor of Communication at the Bernard M. Baruch College of Manhattan and the author of the prestigious book Getting Up. Likewise, meetings will be organized with the rest of the participants, in which they will talk about their experiences in the field of urban art.

Of course, guided visits to the Campus, including both works kept from previous years and new works, will be an essential part of this year’s edition too. Also not to be missed is "Menudo Poliniza", a workshop aimed at children that families eagerly await.
