Visiting students

The status of visiting student is enjoyed by students or graduates from national or foreign universities who, after obtaining due authorisation, study a course at one of the centres at the University; this does not mean, however, that any previously completed studies or those carried out at this University will be officially recognised.

The educational activities carried out here will therefore be exclusively for instructional purposes.

Exceptionally, applicants who have not studied at university may still be eligible for consideration as visiting students provided that they are able to prove that they have satisfactory knowledge of the specific field in which they wish to register to study.

Admission and stay

After considering the report drawn up by the corresponding centre, the Rector of the University will decide whether these students can be admitted or not.

Visiting students shall be allowed to stay at the University for a minimum period of three months and a maximum of twelve months. Under extraordinary circumstances and on account of the special characteristics of the course that the student has applied for, he or she may be authorised to stay for periods other than those stated.

Registration

In order to register, visiting students shall pay the fees that are established for each academic year in the Local Government Order on University Fees.
To be able to register, visiting students will have to prove that they have some kind of insurance to cover any adverse event involving illness or accident that may occur during their stay at the UPV.
The status of visiting student, which is acquired following enrolment, entitles such students to use the services and facilities at the UPV and to be accredited as such.

Assessment

Visiting students can sit mid-term or end-of-year exams and will be given a grade accordingly, which will be noted in a specific record.
As proof of their stay at the UPV and of the grades obtained there, visiting students may apply for a certificate that clearly states this information, as well as the status and type of studies completed at the University.

Such certificates will be issued by the Secretary General of the University.
