UPV

Requirements for exchange students

An exchange student is a student coming to UPV for a limited period of time (usually one or two semesters), under an exchange programme with a partner university. UPV runs two university-wide student exchange programmes:

the European Lifelong Learning Programme/Erasmus Exchange Programme (formerly Socrates/Erasmus) for European students

the International Exchange Programme, for students from outside Europe

If you come to UPV under an exchange scheme, you are exempt from paying tuition fees here (the host institution), as exchange students only pay tuition fees at their home institution. To be an exchange student at UPV:

Your home institution must be a UPV partner through a formal exchange agreement.

You must be appointed to participate in the programme by the exchange co-ordinator of your home institution.

Your application must be accepted by a UPV school or faculty.

If selected, you will remain enrolled with your home institution.

The academic credits you undertake at UPV may be credited towards your home degree. This must be agreed prior to your visit between you and your home institution.

Unless the formal agreement between the two institutions states differently, the academic credits you undertake at UPV under the exchange scheme cannot be credited towards getting a UPV degree.

If you would like to come to the UPV on an exchange study period, you must first contact the Academic Exchange Co-ordinator at your own university to check whether there is an existing agreement with UPV, and what your home institution's requirements are in order to be appointed to UPV.
