UPV

Useful information

Visas and permits
Recently, illegal immigration has become an issue in Spain, and it is being seriously addressed by the authorities. It is therefore extremely important that you follow the Spanish regulations on this subject. Illegal immigration is a politically sensitive issue therefore efforts are being made to prevent unauthorised entry and to find and deport people living illegally in the country.

Accommodation
UPV provides students with a free service to help them find accommodation that meets their expectations and needs. To do so, UPV keeps an updated database with information on rooms in shared flats, flats to rent and host family accommodation.

The cost of living
Spain is a European Monetary Union Member State and its currency is the Euro (Euro/€). Banks are usually open in the morning, Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm.

Orientation sessions for incoming students
Any change in a person's life represents an important landmark in their development. When a student arrives at the UPV for the first time, they are faced with one of the biggest challenges they are going to encounter during their stay here.

Classes delivered in English
UPV is currently offering over 130 subjects delivered in English for local as well as exchange students. The contents, credits, and level of these English speaking groups are exactly the same as their Spanish equivalents.

Spanish tuition
UPV's Department of Applied Linguistics provides tuition and organises courses for learners of Spanish as a foreign language at different levels. These courses only available for exchange students and completely free of charge are part of UPV's regular academic curriculum.
