The UPV announces the eleventh edition of the competition to promote children's approach to science and technology as part of the celebration Christmas celebrations. The deadline is 11 December

[ 28/11/2023 ]

The Draw Science at Christmas competition is aimed at the sons and daughters of UPV students and staff aged between 3 and 14 years old.

To participate, they must submit a single drawing from the competition website containing the concepts "Science" and "Christmas". The deadline for submitting drawings is from 27 November to 11 December 2023. All illustrations will be published on the competition website.

Four age categories, each with two prizes

There will be four age categories, each with two prizes: one awarded by the public (voting will take place on 13 and 14 December via the website) and one awarded by a jury (15 December, also via the website). All the prizes will consist of an educational game.

As a thank you for their participation and effort, each winner will receive:

- Two tickets to the ABC El Saler cinema in the UPV matinee session that will take place on Tuesday, 27 December, at noon for the participants of the Vera Campus. There will be a choice between these films: "Wish" and "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom".

- Two cinema tickets, valid from 27 December to 8 January, for the participants from the Alcoy (Axion Cinemas) and Gandia (ABC Gandia CC La Vital) Campuses.

The times and places to collect the tickets will be announced later via the competition website and emailed to all participants.

In addition, thanks again to the collaboration of Dideco (a shop specialising in educational toys), each participant will receive a discount voucher for 10% off games and stationery and 5% off literature.

The winners will be announced on 18 December 2023. The illustrations may be used in different UPV channels to send holiday greetings and disseminate the institution's scientific activity. The winning drawings with the author's name may also be used in the digital MUPIs distributed throughout the different UPV campuses.

The activity is organised by the Communication Area - Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) of the Universitat Politècnica de València with the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. It is also in line with the philosophy of the European project Mednight Goes to School (Mednight GTS).
