The Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), internationally recognized as the primary world reference in university valuation, has published a few minutes ago the rankings of its Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2023, results that endorse, once again, the educational prestige of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), included among the 300 best universities in the world in a total of 10 disciplines, two more than in the previous year's edition.
Thus, for the Shanghai ranking, the UPV is in the top 100 worldwide in Food Science and Technology, among the 150 best in the world in both Agricultural Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, and is also in the top 200 in Mathematics and Business Administration and Management.
Likewise, the institution directed by Prof. Dr. José E. Capilla is among the 300 best universities in the world in 5 other disciplines: Biomedical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Instrumental Science and Technologies, Civil Engineering and Veterinary Sciences.
In addition to the 10 disciplines mentioned above, Shanghai highlights UPV in 6 more, classifying it in the 301-400 range in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medical Technology and Management, and in the top 500 in Computer Science and Biotechnology.
At a national level, Jiao Tong University ranks the UPV as the best in Spain for studying Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, the second best for studying Telecommunications Engineering and Chemical Engineering, the third best for studying Business Administration and Management (ADE) and Computer Science, and includes it in the top 5 in five other disciplines: Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Instrumental Science and Technologies, Civil Engineering and Mathematics.
In addition to GRAS, in August Jiao Tong University published the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), considered the leading indicator of university quality worldwide. In its latest edition, Shanghai once again highlighted the UPV as the best polytechnic at the national level and the only Spanish university included in the world's top 500.
Regarding the UPV, Shanghai highlights that "95% of its graduates would return to study there if they had to start over again, due to the high employability rates of the degrees it offers, the links it has created with the best educational and research institutions around the world, its exceptional sports facilities and its wide range of long life learning".
