The Universitat Politčcnica de Valčncia (UPV) is the second-best university in Spain to study Computer Science and is in the top 400 in the world in this field. This is according to the latest edition, made public today, of the THE Subject Ranking, the classification of the world's universities by subject carried out by the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, considered, along with ARWU - popularly known as the Shanghai Ranking- and QS, to be one of the 3 most prestigious university indicators in the world.
In addition to Computer Science, THE also highlights the UPV among the 500 best universities in the world in Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences.
The results of the current edition also represent a great improvement compared to the 2022 edition. Unsurprisingly, the UPV climbed two places in three areas - Computer Science (from 501-600 to 301-400), Engineering and Physical Sciences -, one place in Arts and Humanities and remained in the same position as in the previous edition in Business Administration and Economics and Life Sciences, where it has been in the top 500 for seven consecutive years.
THE's recognition of UPV as one of the 200 universities with the most significant economic and social impact globally is matched by that of the other most prestigious international university rankings.
Thus, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU, popularly known as the Shanghai Ranking) qualifies the UPV as the best polytechnic university in Spain, as well as including it, for the 19th year in a row, in the top 500 universities in the world.
Last June, the QS World University Rankings placed the UPV in the world's top 500 for the 12th consecutive year.
