[ 22/05/2023 ]

The Auditorium of the Universitat Politècnica de València has been the venue for the General Assembly of the Ibero-American Postgraduate University Association (AUIP), which was attended by more than 40 Rectors from Spanish and Latin American universities. A total of 281 university institutions make up this association, intending to establish synergies between America, Spain, and Portugal. The Rector of the UPV, José E. Capilla, welcomed all those attending the conference and announced the signing of a UPV-AUIP collaboration agreement to process a call for 40 Master's grants for students of this association.

In his welcome speech, José E. Capilla underlined the fundamental role played by universities and science as an essential pillar always at the service of society. To this end, he highlighted 'the strategic vision of the UPV, which, by involving all levels of the university community, has led us to develop SIRVE, a plan that guides all the activities of the institution, taking sustainability, internationalisation, relevance, vitality, and excellence as a reference point'.

Call for 40 Master's scholarships

The Rector has expressed his satisfaction at the signing of the collaboration agreement between the UPV and the AUIP, which took place after the assembly, through which AUIP assumes the management of the programme for the call for 40 master's grants aimed at students, graduates and graduates of foreign universities in Latin America at the UPV. "This agreement represents the effort to combine synergies and strengthen ties between the associated community, as well as the commitment to the future projection and international policy of the UPV".

For his part, Miguel Ángel Castro, president of the AUIP and Rector of the University of Seville, thanked the Rector for 'the offer and hospitality for the UPV to host the meeting and for València to be the centre of the Ibero-American university space during the day'. Rector Castro also thanked the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Communication of the UPV, José Francisco Monserrat, and his team for their involvement and work.
