Documents to be submitted
  • Access to a PhD degree. If you have a master's degree, please provide both the master's degree certificate as the previous degree certificate which enabled you to take the master's.
  • Academic transcript (certificate of the subjects studied, credits, number of hours and grades). If you have a master's degree, please provide both the master's degree certificate as the previous degree certificate which enabled you to take the master's.
  • A certification of the institution that granted the degree of access which indicates that, with the same, access to doctoral studies in the country of origin is possible.

Providing the first two certificates is compulsory, the third being recommended only.

During the first year of enrolment:

  • The certificates must be collated with their original copy in the Administrative Services of the Doctoral School. The degree certificates must be authorised copies through diplomatic channels (see information in the link).

In addition, any other application related documentation that may be reviewed by the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme may be submitted.

Specific documentation for holders of official certificates issued outside Spain

Students whose access certificate is issued by a foreign country and who are enrolled in a doctoral programme must necessarily submit the following documents during their first year:

  • DEGREES OBTAINED IN THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA
    • Main access degree to a PhD degree. Original and copy for collation and filing in the student's file.
    • Academic transcript (certificate with the subjects and grades) corresponding to the main access degree to the PhD programme. Original or original and copy for collation.
    • Certificate issued by their university of origin stating that the degree obtained by the applicant grants access to doctoral studies.
  • DEGREES OBTAINED OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA
    • Authorised copy of the degree, or accredited original certificate of issuance thereof, authorised.
    • Original academic certificate with the subjects taken, duly stamped by the university of origin, or an authorised copy thereof.
    • A certification stating that with the degree held the applicant may be granted access to doctoral studies in the country of origin.
