VALIDATIONS

There are several types of validations established for students enrolled in the degree University Expert in Professional Competence for Teaching in Valencian and/or English.

The different types of validations shall NOT be carried out automatically, they must be requested through a procedure that shall be established for such purpose.

Students enrolled in these degrees shall receive an email with the specific information about the validation procedure.

Credits from non-official degrees cannot be recognised for more than 25% of the total of the ECTS credits of the non-official degree in which the student is enrolled.Those non-official degrees that are part of a Coordinated Training Project or a Coordinated Training Plan (PEC) are exempt from this rule regarding the recognition of their respective credits, and the recognition of 100% of the credits of the degree is not possible.

 

Validation methods:

1) Students who enrol in the degree of University Expert in Professional Competence for Teaching in Valencian and/or English and who have completed other degree of University Expert in Professional Competence in previous editions, shall be able to validate the subjects specified below. The validation shall NOT be carried out automatically, it must be requested through a procedure that shall be established for such purpose.

 

2) Students who, during academic year 2018-2019, simultaneously take the degree of University Expert in Professional Competence for Teaching in Valencian and the degree of University Expert in Professional Competence for Teaching in English, may request the validation of the subjects that are specified below. The validation shall NOT be carried out automatically, it must be requested through a procedure that shall be established for such purpose.

The validations corresponding to modalities 1 and 2 take place in the following subjects:

• The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Incorporation of the European dimension in education and European programmes in the educational field. / European Framework for Languages (1 credit)
• The legal framework of multilingual education in the Valencian Community: The multilingual education programmes / Legal Framework of the Education System (1 credit)
• Approaches, methods, concepts and terminology related to second language learning. (1 credit)
• Approaches, Methods, Concepts and Terminology Related to CLIL (2 credits)
• ICTs in the design of CLIL tasks: sources and resources(3 credits).

 

3) Students who have completed postgraduate or other subjects of the same level issued by other higher education institutions may request the validation by subjects of the degree of University Expert in Professional Competence for Teaching in Valencian or of the degree of University Expert in Professional Competence for Teaching in English, provided there is a 75% coincidence between the contents, the teaching load and the competences foreseen between the subjects of the UPV's non-official degree in question and the subjects for which the recognition is requested. These subjects for which the validation is requested must be in the non-official degree in which the applicant is enrolled. The validation shall NOT be carried out automatically, it must be requested through a procedure that shall be established for such purpose.

During the application process that shall be established, the interested parties shall have to provide, as it shall be specified, the following documentation:

• Degree issued.
• Programme of the subjects taken and completed.
• Grade certificate.

 

4) Students who have studied at the UPV the subjects of Technical Valencian and / or Advanced Technical Valencian (former degrees) or Technical Valencian I and / or Technical Valencian II (undergraduate degrees) or other subjects linked to the area of knowledge of Catalan Philology shall be able to request the validation of the subject "The speciality languages" (2 credits) of the degree of University Expert in Professional Competence for Teaching in Valencian, after having enrolled in the same. The validation shall NOT be carried out automatically, it must be requested through a procedure that shall be established for such purpose.

 

5) The validation of work experience may be requested. The validation shall NOT be carried out automatically, it must be requested through a procedure that shall be established for such purpose.

During the application process that shall be established, the interested parties shall have to provide, as it shall be specified, the following documentation:

• Work experience
• Certificate of the institution where the student works or has worked detailing the work period and the amount of hours, as well as the tasks carried out.
