RiuNet is the Institutional Repository of Universitat Politècnica de València, managed by the Library. Its purpose is to offer online access to the scientific, academic and corporate production of the university community to increase visibility and make the content accessible and preservable. RiuNet meets the University’s commitments under the Budapest Open Access Initiative, the Berlin Declaration and its institutional open access policy.
RiuNet has been designed so the university community can store its personal and institutional production in collections. These collections comprise a variety of document types such as learning objectives (Polimedia, virtual laboratories and teaching articles), doctoral theses, journal articles, maps, academic works, creative works, heritage collection, teaching material, multimedia, institutional production, electronic journals and conference proceedings.
Students can only deposit academic works which must be included in RiuNet to comply with current legislation.
Doctorate: Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, regulating official doctorate studies indicates in Article 14.5: “After approving a doctoral thesis, the university shall store it in open format at an institutional repository and shall send, in electronic format, a copy of the same and all the required supplementary information to the Ministry of Education for the opportune purposes”, that is, theses approved at UPV must be deposited in RiuNet.(+info)
Bachelor/Master: Under Universitat Politècnica de Valencia framework legislation for Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree final projects, approved by the governing council on 7 March 2013, after successful completion of the Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree final project, students must deposit their projects in RiuNet (Article 11. Custody and Storage). The collection is managed by each School, Department or entity responsible for Master’s degree courses (ERT), and they provide information on the RiuNet academic depository because the process is now automated. Documentation deposited in RiuNet can be consulted directly from the repository (check the Help file) or through PoliBuscador. In this case, results from a simple search also show RiuNet entries, together with those in the catalogue or other resources; it is also possible to filter by RiuNet. The picture shows an example of a recommended bibliography search with a RiuNet result.
