Mendeley is the Universitat Politècnica de València’s institutional bibliographic manager. It provides an easy way to organise your documents, read and insert notes in your PDF files, collaborate in private or open groups and secure access to your research in both the local version (desktop) and in the cloud.
What does Mendeley offer?
A platform for research collaboration. A single tool with a variety of functionalities:
Maintenance of a personal library including downloaded attached files stored both in Mendeley and in your own equipment or your own account in the cloud (Dropbox, etc.)
A reference manager so you can work with documents in different word processors to cite and create bibliographies in many different bibliography styles.
A document search engine (database with over 100 million documents selected by researchers from around the world)
A social network to promote collaboration by joining and creating groups. Discover new documents and collaborators.
Local version and web version synchronise automatically
Version for Android mobile devices in Google Play
Universitat Politècnica de València institutional version
Personal library with up to 5 GB storage capacity
Private groups of up to 25 people in each group
Space to store information for group collaborations of up to 20 GB
As well as Mendeley there are other bibliographic managers like RefWorks, Zotero and EndNote, which the library does not support because the university has not subscribed to them. You can find information on these managers in the book guides and in PoliScience.
