Sports

Castellón de la Plana offers a wide range of choices for sports-lovers: from ultralight aircraft or piper cubs (at the Pinar aerodrome), to swimming, fishing, windsurfing or

scuba diving along any of its beaches. Sailors will head straight for the Nautical Club in the port. Mountaineering is also a traditional activity throughout the province, and there are a number of clubs located in the city and in outlying towns such as Morella or Vinaros. The highest mountains in the Land of Valencia are yours to choose from! If you're looking for the peace and quiet of the golf course, you won't be disappointed. You can take your pick between the Club de Golf Costa de Azahar (next to the coast) or the Club de Golf Mediterráneo, in the mountains 7 km from Borriol. If your interests tend towards horse- riding, cycling or just plain hiking, enter into the orchards and groves and following the route of the hermitages. Few cities have the country as close as Castellón de la Plana. The Castalia Stadium, a municipal sports complex and a number of tennis and basketball courts complete the sports infrastructure of the city, which is capable of satisfying a full range of tastes.
