Culture

Theatrical activities such as Castelló a Escena, Festa al Carrer, concerts, annual book and craft fairs and numerous conferences and expositions are examples of the cultural concerns of the city. Mention should also be made of the Francisco Tįrrega Internationl Guitar Festival, which although it is held in the nearby town of Benicąssim, brings together a large number of music-lovers from all over the world each year at the end of the Summer. The Jaume I University contributes to the skills of new generations, and both public and private libraries, with over 200,000 volumes in all, are an important part of the cultural heritage of the city.

El Planetario (The Planetarium) Located close to the Pinar beach is the city's most recent addition to its heritage. There are both permanent expositions and a variety of shows on the night sky held throughout the year.
