Received the Beng degree in electrical Engineering and MS and PhD degrees in computer engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (Spain), in 1986, 1993, and 1999, respectively.

He has been with the Department of Computer Engineering (DISCA) at the same university since 1986, where he is currently a full time Catedrático de Escuela Universitaria of Industrial Informatics on engineering degrees.

He co-authored different books and publications related with Industrial Informatics. Also he has presented several papers in educational congress.

During the period from 1992 to 1999 he has occupied different positions in their University related with International Cooperation and International Programmes. From 1992 to 1995 he managed international relations and projects at School level as Subidrector de Relaciones Internacionales at Escuela Universitaria de Ingeniería Técnica Industrial de Valencia. From 1995 to 1999 he managed international relations and projects at University level as Director of International Programmes at Universitat Politècnica de Valencia. From 2004 to 2005 he was the Director of the UPV Library. From 2005 until now he is Vice-rector at UPV now in charge of International Policy.

His research interests include deadlock handling and congestion control mechanisms for interconnection networks. He has published several papers related with the topics of his research.

From the years 2012 to 2014 has been executive secretary for internationalization and Cooperation at Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE). He has participated as expert in the selection of projects in the following programmes: EC-USA 2001, EC-USA 2002, EC-CANADA 2001, EC-CANADA 2002, Thematic Networks: Programa Cooperación Interuniversitaria España-America Latina 1998, Student Mobility: Programa Cooperación Interuniversitaria España-America Latina 2001
