Macroporous thin membranes

New macroporous thin membranes for biomedical applications

Macroporous thin membranes1

Production of 100 microns thick macroporous membranes with enhanced mechanical properties adequate for cell transplant in regenerative medicine.

These very thin membranes are porous enough to hold cells to be transplanted to the organism or to be colonized by ingrowth from neighboring tissues in the organism, and they present sufficient tearing stress to be sutured with surgical thread.

These biomaterials can be also used for drug delivery in different biomedical applications.

• Wound healing dressing

• Cell therapy

• Drug delivery systems
