It is also the fourth-best option for training in Materials Science and the fifth-best in Computer Science.
Regarding the overall assessment, QS highlights the UPV in 16 disciplines, including it in the world's top 200 in up to 9 of them. Specifically, in addition to those already mentioned -Agriculture and Forestry (top 50) and Architecture (51-100)-, it is in this rank in Art and Design (101-150), Chemical Engineering (101-150), Civil Engineering (101-150), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (151-200), Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics and Manufacturing (151-200), Materials Science (151-200) and Statistics and Operations Research (151-200).

As soon as the results were announced, the rector of the UPV, Prof. José E. Capilla, wanted to congratulate everyone responsible for this recognition.
"It is so rewarding for the entire university community, particularly those working in these disciplines. We work daily to provide the best training, and the fact that an entity such as QS endorses it confirms that our effort is on the right track," he commented.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the world's leading provider of services, analytics, and research in the higher education sector, has conducted a comparative analysis of 15,700 individual university programmes from 1,594 universities for this ranking.
By assessing four indicators - academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per article, and h-index - QS evaluates the work of universities by grouping it into five broad subject areas - Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Business Management - which it then subdivides into rankings of 54 academic disciplines.
